What we know as conventional fertilizer is in fact derived directly from petroleum. It is evident from the examination of a bag containing 40 pound fertilizer that there is the presence of gasoline to a great extent. Not only that the fertilizers are packed with nitrogen and much quantity of phosphorous. This excessive use of chemical flow down into the water sources causing much destruction to the aquatic life paving the way for the algae to bloom to exhaust oxygen from the water sources.

The other deadly effect of the conventional fertilizers is that they destruct the healthy organisms that make the soil fertile. Besides, the fertilizers make the soil sterilized and addicted to such an extent that if synthetic fertilizers are not used the soil can not but be barren. Hence steps must be taken in this regard to avoid such indiscriminate use of conventional fertilizers.

When the question of conventional fertilizers comes it is also noted that these fertilizers too contain synthetic ammonia, bird wastes and some manures that are never beneficial for plants, rather they destroy them. Again the other ingredients of organic fertilizers are meat by products such as blood, bone, feathers and fish meal that cause great destruction to the plant life. Hence agro- researchers opine that though the fertilizers are used they must be used under strict warning so that human beings can never be contaminated at any cost.

Again peat that is found in many conventional fertilizes is defamed for acute global warming as the peat bogs accumulate much carbon dioxide and when harvested they return the excessive quantity of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere causing tremendous imbalance to the eco-system. Simultaneously when the peat bogs are drained they may convert into forests but sans wildlife. Even it is noted that the butterflies too fall victim to peat pollution.

Again there comes the question of swage sludge that is mixed with some conventional fertilizers. The sewage sludge is available from different sources such as pharmaceuticals, synthetic chemicals, heavy metals that any how avoid the frown of the waste water treatment. Furthermore, the matter that is of great concern is that the sewage sludge that has been used as fertilizes for time immemorial are greatly absorbed by the earth worms. The scientists apprehend that as a result of such absorption the possibility of crops to be unknowingly chemical infested is not ruled out.
